Verse Of The Week for February 16 - February 22

“We love Him, because He first loved us.”

We looked at the last part of this verse last week. “…because He first loved us.” This week we are looking at the first part of this verse. “We love Him,…”

Several times in the book of 1 John we see the phrase “my little children.” In the original Greek this means “my little born ones.” So 1 John is written to those that are saved, that have been born again . What a great Blessing it is to be saved by the Lords amazing grace. In Ephesians 2 we are told that we are “saved by grace through faith.” Salvation comes from God when we by faith trust, believe with our whole heart, in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. As we talked about last week God loved us before we were even born! That’s amazing isn’t it? We love Him because of that. If we don’t love God it is a sure sign that we have never been born again! We, that are saved, love Him because He loved us first. We are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind. Matthew 22:37. We should love Him with everything that is within us because He first loved us! Bless each of you that read this verse this week. Amen!
