Verse Of The Week for June 8 - June 14

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

- Romans 15:4

The word of God, penned down by individuals that were inspired by the Holy Spirit is so precious. It was written many years ago and was given for our benefit. May I say that the Word of God is essential for our salvation. Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” When we hear the Word of God, God in the person of the Holy Spirit will reveal that truth to us. We then can act upon that truth, by trusting (having faith) in what he says. It was written, according to this verse for our learning. Sound doctrine is Gods Word and what His Word says. We must learn, allow the Holy Spirit to teach us the scriptures. The purpose is that we may have hope. Not in what mans opinion or thought is, but in the truth of Gods Word. Let me encourage you to study the Word of God and do what His Word says. That is obedience. We certainly have a treasure, and it’s the Bible, the Word of God! Amen!
