Verse of the week for December 31 - January 6

“I cried unto the Lord with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and He gave ear unto me.”
- Psalms 77:1

One of the most amazing things that you and I have is the invitation of God to cry unto Him. This is a song of Asaph. Asaph was a chief musician in the Tabernacle and Temple. He was a gifted individual and realized the gift he had came from God. Asaph penned this Psalm down inspired by the Spirit of God.
Think of this verse. He stated “I cried unto the Lord with my voice…” How wonderful it is to know that we can cry unto the Lord! No matter what is taking place in our lives, or is happening around us it is of great comfort to know that we can cry unto the Lord with our voice! The Lord wants to hear from us. He delights when we cry out unto Him! I believe that when we cry out unto Him we do it through faith. How many times do we read in scripture that when individuals cried out unto the Lord that he heard them and responded to them! We can rest assured that when we cry unto the Lord, He will hear and respond! The last part of Psalms 77:1 says, “and he gave ear unto me.” O blessed thought that when we cry unto the Lord, or cry unto God, that he will give ear unto us. Pray. He will “give ear.” May the Lord Bless and strengthen each of you for His honor and glory!
