Verse of the week for December 17 - December 23

 “And the angel said unto them, fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
- Luke 2:10-11

This message given to the shepherds is a message everyone needs to hear. Many people today observe Christmas for many reasons. To some it is a day off work. To others it’s a time to receive or give someone a gift. To others it may be a meal with family and friends. Christmas is so much more than this. It is a time to celebrate God’s love to us. The greatest gift that has ever been or ever will be given unto mankind is that of Jesus Christ, God’s own Son. Think about it. Without Him we would have no hope. We would be eternally condemned and lost. Our eternal abode would be separated from God to spend eternity in Hell! What a gift. What love from our Heavenly Father is displayed through Christ. Let all Heaven and Earth proclaim, Jesus is Born, He lived, was crucified, and has risen again. He is currently seated at the Father’s right hand interceding on our behalf.
