Verse of the week for February 25 - March 2

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
- Acts 4:12

As we look at this verse of the week, let’s look back into the earlier chapters of the book of Acts. In chapter 1 Jesus tells the Apostles that they were to wait in Jerusalem for the coming of the Holy Spirit. He said,” Ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you. And ye shall be witnesses no unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” If we read in Acts 2 we see the Holy Spirit came and Peter preached and the results were 3000 souls were saved. The next day Peter and John were going to the temple at the hour of prayer. They encountered the lame man,at the gate of the temple, named beautiful. The man was miraculously healed. The people recognized the man that was healed and ran up to Peter and John. Peter had an opportunity to preach again, the death burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The religious leaders of that day didn’t like the fact that he preached the resurrection of the dead. However 5000 souls were saved! Peter once again speaks of Jesus and makes the statement that there is no salvation in any other! Aren’t you thankful that salvation is only through Christ? Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh to the father, but by me.” People expect to go to heaven when they leave this world. The only people that go to heaven are those that have been saved by Gods marvelous grace. In Peter’s message he states that there is not salvation in any other. If you are reading this today and do not know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, please turn to Him and let Him save your soul! You see, we hear Gods Word, the Holy Spirit lets us know that we are a sinner. The same Holy Spirit draws us to Christ. By faith we call upon Him and ask Him to save our soul. He alone can and will save us when we call upon Him with all our hearts. Thank God for His plan of salvation!
