Verse Of the Week for May 26 - June 1

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

- Proverbs 22:6

What a tremendous verse of scripture this is to each of us that have some age on us. This tells us, that are saved, what an opportunity as well as a responsibility we have. In our church as well as many others in the area, Vacation Bible School is right around the corner. Many of the children that attend VBS do not attend church services any other time. It is a God given responsibility to parents to train up, teach a child, the correct things of life. The church will aide in doing this through Sunday School, Church Services, AWANA, and Vacation Bible School. Please parents, recognize the importance of your children being under the Word of God. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” It is imperative that children as well as adults hear the Word of God! Ephesians 2:8 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith…” You see we are saved by grace through faith. Where does faith come from? Romans 10:17 gives us the answer. “So the faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” So parents, VBS leaders and workers everywhere let’s get ready! Pray, pray, pray!!! The opportunity and responsibility is approaching to reach these precious souls with the pure Word of God. Pray that each of us will be where the Lord can use us for His honor and glory! I know many of you that are reading these words were saved at a VBS or have had children and friends that were saved at VBS! What a Blessing awaits. Dear Lord prepare our hearts to be clean vessels that you can use to reach those that attend VBS and touch parents hearts to realize the importance of these last days. Please prepare the hearts of children to be receptive to the precious Word of God. To God be all honor and glory!
