Verse of the week for March 10 - March 16

“I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”
- John 10:11

We are approaching Easter. We are preparing to celebrate the bodily resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There are some tremendous things that occurred to make the resurrection of Christ a reality. The verse we are looking at this week is found in one of my favorite chapters in the Word of God, John 10. Jesus states who He is and what He is going to do. He says, “I am the good shepherd,…” This portion of this verse reminds me of Psalms 23:1. “The Lord is my shepherd,…” Notice how personal this statement is. My shepherd,” This speaks of our personal relationship with Him. Nothing is of any more importance than this. To know Him as one’s personal savior is the most important thing ever! Jesus said that He is the Good Shepherd and that the Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep. As we approach Easter Sunday, let us take time to reflect upon the price that was paid in order for us to be saved! Read the Gospel accounts of the events leading up to and during the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all give details of the tremendous price that Jesus paid for our salvation. Take a look at Calvary and you will never be the same! God Bless you all!
