Verse Of the Week for September 22 - September 28

“Pray without ceasing.”

- 1 Thess. 5:17

How wonderful it is to be saved by Gods Amazing Grace. To be a child of God and have the assurance that we are saved is the best thing ever! God gave His Son in order that we might be saved and have a personal relationship with Him. In our relationship with Him we can have fellowship with Him as we pray and study His Word. This verse in 1 Thess. Says to “pray without ceasing.” We are encouraged to pray many times throughout the scriptures. We have examples of different individuals in the Bible that prayed. Jesus gave us a tremendous example of the importance of prayer. He prayed often alone. Sometimes He prayed with His disciples. Sometimes a multitude heard Him pray. Many times He prayed all night. What a great example and encouragement to pray. When the scripture tells us to pray without ceasing what is it telling us to do? Prayer is the sincere desire of one’s heart. We are to pray trusting God for the answer according to His will. Many times we pray and are waiting for the answer to be the way we think it should be. Remember, God knows all things and God desires the very best for His children. We can and should have a burden upon our hearts. We may not continually be on our knees praying but we can have a prayer upon our hearts continually. We as individuals have needs. We have family members that have needs. There are people that we have never met or may never meet that have needs. Only the Lord can meet the spiritual needs that each of these individuals have. Pray for a burden for people that don’t know the Lord. Pray that the Lord will use you to reach these people for Christ sake. Pray for souls to be saved, Gods people will be strengthened and Blessed. Pray for the local Churches, the congregations, the pastors and church officers. Pray for the missionaries and their families. Pray one for another. You see we have much to pray about. “Pray without ceasing.”
