Verse Of The Week for December 15 - December 21

“…behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour which is Christ the Lord.”

- Luke 2:11

Good news! Great news!!! This good news was given unto some shepherds by the angel of the Lord when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. These shepherds were doing what they did every night. However this message they heard and what they experienced that night would change their lives forever! The angel of the Lord told them that this good news would be for all people. Aren’t you thankful that the message of the gospel (the good news) is for everyone. “For unto you…’ That declaration is unto me, you, our next door neighbor, the drug addict, alcoholic, streetwalker, banker, teacher, waiter, waitress, anyone, everyone that has ever or will ever be born. This good news was for the shepherds and everybody else! The angel of the Lord said, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David, (Bethlehem) a savior. A Savior? Yes because we needed a Savior, therefore God sent to us, gave to us, exactly what we needed. He is Christ the Lord. Christ means anointed. Jesus Christ is not a way of salvation, but the Way of salvation. Jesus said in John 14:6. “I am the way the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Know this, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Good News! Great News!!! God loves you and sent, gave, Jesus, that you can be saved! Call upon Him, believe upon Him, be saved today! Amen.
