Verse Of The Week for December 1 - December 7

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son , And they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is,God with us.”

- Matthew 1:23

What a wonderful time of the year to celebrate! Isaiah the prophet had foretold of this tremendous event. A virgin would conceive and bring forth a Son. This would be no ordinary birth. This was a miraculous birth! Mary, a chosen vessel of God, would bring forth a Son. The Son of God! God in the flesh would dwell among sinful men. Emmanuel, God with us. Jesus was God in the flesh. Jesus said, “If you have seen me you have seen the Father.” If we want to know what God is like all we need do is look at Jesus. Sinful man needed a redeemer, a savior, and God the Father provided exactly what man needed: Jesus. The greatest gift that ever has been or will be given is Jesus! “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Celebrate Jesus. Celebrate His birth. Celebrate His sinless life. Celebrate His death. Celebrate His resurrection. Celebrate His love for us in providing the means for our salvation! Receive the greatest gift ever given. Jesus! Amen!
