Verse Of the Week for September 8 - September 14

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, wait on the Lord.”

- Psalm 27:14

Wait. What? Wait. Waiting many times is not one of our favorite things to do. We don’t like waiting! This verse tells me what I need to do more of. Wait on the Lord. If we will get serious about this, who better to wait upon than the Lord. The Lord knows all things. He knows the beginning and the end and everything in between. Nothing takes the Lord by surprise. He wants the very best for His children.

There is never a time that the Lord is not aware of exactly what is going on in our lives. If we will simply wait upon the Lord, we can navigate successfully anything we’re experiencing. Psalms 23:1 states, “The Lord is my shepherd…” To know the Lord is our shepherd brings us strength, confidence, and joy. Our shepherd protects us, provides for us, and loves us! He will never leave us or forsake us. He has promised this to us through His Word. The Lord is never too busy to listen to us and He will answer us, if we’ll just wait and listen. Just wait upon Him! Don’t worry, don’t rush, just wait upon the Lord. He will be right on time! He always is. Bless His Holy Name!
