Verse Of The Week for March 23 - March 29

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abide the forever.”

- 1 Peter 1:23
Oh how precious is the Word of God! We have a treasure in the Holy Bible, the infallible Word of God. In the book of Romans chapter ten verse seventeen we are told, “ So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” How wonderful to hear the Word of God. As we hear, read, and study God’s Word, our faith grows. The scripture tells us that “ the just shall live by faith.” We, as believers in Christ, are to live daily by faith. We are to trust Him in every aspect of our lives. He is interested in everything that we think, need or do. Some things to us may seem so small but not to our God. His desire is for us to have the very best in life. I am not saying that He is just going to give us everything that we want or think that we must have. However He will supply to us everything that we need. We can trust Him to do that. We may come to places in our lives that we don’t understand what’s happening. He wants us to trust Him. We may have times that are so difficult to deal with but He still wants us to trust Him. Our verse for this week talks to us about the importance of the Word of God. Our salvation comes about by the Word of God. We are born again by the great truths laid out in His Word. How do we know anything about God? It’s through His Word. How do we know anything about God’s love for us? It’s through His Word. How do we know about Jesus dying for our sins? It’s through His Word. How do we know that we can be saved? It’s through His Word. It’s taking God at His Word. That’s faith, that’s simply trusting in what His Word says! A plus to this is found in the very last line of 1 Peter 1:23. It states that the “Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.” That tells me that we can rely, fully trust, in the Word of God.

Dear Lord, help us to dig deeper. Help us to read, study and obey your Word. Help us to trust you in every area of our lives. We thank you for your Word. Help us to hunger and thirst after righteousness each and every day for your honor and your glory! Amen
