Verse of the week for November 26 - December 2
Isaiah 9:6 in part.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given…”
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given…”
Think about these words. I mean really think about these words. The scripture says “For unto us…” Do we realize that to the world we are so insignificant. We don’t matter too much but to a very small number of people. Maybe family and close friends. Coworkers and neighbors, but to relatively few people. However every single one of us are of great importance unto God! Think about the “us” in this verse. That’s me and you! Unto us “a child is born.” We are approaching a time when we celebrate Christmas. Christmas is not about stuff, but about the greatest gift ever! We look back to that night in Bethlehem that a child, a baby was born, that very few people took notice of. This child that was born to a virgin named Mary, was none other than God himself, Jesus God’s only begotten Son. The next part of that verse in Isaiah is “a son is given.” The greatest gift ever known to man is this son, Jesus Christ! What a Savior He is!!! He came, lived, died, and rose again, just for “us.”
