Verse Of the Week for April 29 - May 4

“And if I gave and prepare a place for you, I will come again…”
- John 14:3

Jesus in speaking to His disciples told them that He was going to prepare a place for them and for all believers. He also promised them that He would come again. Some day, one day, He is going to come back. Over and over in scripture, Jesus has promised us that He will return. No one knows the day or the hour, but rest assured that Jesus Christ himself is coming again!

What is so important about the fact of His return is that people are prepared for this event. He could come any moment of any day at any time! The first stage of His second coming is what is known as the Rapture. This is when every born again believe will leave this world to meet the Lord! Read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-58. Only the bodies of the saved will come forth from the graves, (this is the first resurrection)and we that are living when He returns will be changed. He will bring those believers with Him whose bodies have been planted in the ground at their deaths. We will all be given a glorified body fashioned like unto the Lords body. What a glorious day that will be! We believers having been changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord!

Please realize that the second coming of Jesus Christ is going to happen even though we don’t know when. If you are reading these words today and you are not saved know this, the most important thing that could happen to you today or in your entire lifetime is to be saved. The Bible tells us in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” God loves you. He loves you so much that He gave His only begotten Son. Jesus lived a perfectly sinless life. A life that you and I couldn’t live. He died for our sin, was buried, and rose again in order for us to be saved. We must trust Him and what He has already done for us then we can be saved! He’s coming! Are you ready for His coming!
