Verse Of the Week for June 30 - July 6

“O lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things.”

- Isaiah 25:1
As we consider this verse this week, think of the goodness of God and the Blessings of God upon the children of Israel. God had chosen them to be His people, He had made a covenant with them, He has Blessed them beyond measure. Now think about us, Gentiles, individuals that were without hope, without God in this world. (Eph. 2:12) Yet in His mercy and grace called us out of darkness into His marvelous light! (1 Peter 2:9) HE has Blessed us, saved us, is keeping us, and has a great future for us! We are truly Blessed. “O Lord thou art my God;”  What a declaration! Thou, you alone, are my God. It is just like Isaiah was thinking about the past, the present, and the future of God’s chosen people and just explodes with praising, honoring, and glorifying Him! If we are not careful, we , that are saved, will sit back with a ho hum attitude and miss Gods best for us. He alone is worthy of all praise, honor, and glory. If we think about all of the ways that He has truly Blessed us I believe that we too can make the same statement. O Lord, thou art my God;…” Be still, stop long enough to see His hand working in your life and give Him all that He alone deserves!  Dear Lord, help us as your children to see the Blessings, be thankful for the Blessings, and praise you for who you are! “O Lord, thou art my God:…”
